Difference between Iranian black cumin and European cumin
Iranian black cumin Bunium Persicum (Boiss) B. Fedtsch. is completely different from European cumin (Carum Carvi L.). These two species differ both in growth habit and also in composition, properties and applications. European cumin (Carum Carvi L.) mainly grows in humid regions and lawns of Europe and Iran, whereas none of the Bunium species are found in these types of regions.
Bunium Persicum is one of the most important medicinal and export plants which bear many uses in traditional medicine and is accepted as high use spices.
