Physical characteristics
Puncture Vine is a herbaceous, annual, branching, and widespread plant on the ground. It reaches a height of up to 50 cm and is green or gray in color and fluffy. The leaves are 3 to 7 cm long. The flowers are 10 to 15 mm wide, yellow or white. Each flower contains 5 to 10 stamens. The fruits are receptacle-like, somewhat rough, round, slightly or heavily hairy, and reach 3 to 7 mm in height. There are usually 4 spines and two rows in the fruit, which rarely has only two spines or no spines with five parts. The flowers of this plant are yellow.
